announced that starting saturday, hourly rates at laguardia's premium central terminal parking lots will increase from 8 to $10 per hour. the maximum daily parking rate in central terminal parking lots at laguardia will
increase 20 bucks from $39 to $59. it's a huge amount of money. reporter: most airports in major u.s. cities offer parking for around $30. 30 is about what's normal. 25, 30.
reporter: not 59. no. that's very, very expensive. reporter: the only other big city airport that's just as pricy is chicago o'hare at $60 during the week. you see how packed this lot is?
the port authority says the increases are intended to better help manage parking demand. essentially, they are trying to get people to take mass transit or a can rather than drive here and park. i'll use a different
airport. it's ridiculous taking advantage of the situation. reporter: with ongoing construction at laguardia, several parking lots were closed, limiting spaces. you can see on their website, just how full the lots
